The Pastures
Enjoy this virutal tour of the pastures on the ranch.
These are pictures at the 40-acre place that
we fondly call "The Bunny Hutch," so called
because we raised rabbits in the two barns for
many years.  The picture on the left is the
levee on the main pond, and the picture
above is from about the middle of the pasture.
These were taken in the early spring, before
the pastures were fertilized, and immediately
after we pulled the ewes off.
Above: Pond in back of the 40 acres was once used for
raising minnows in a bait business.
Above right: Adjacent pond was also part of the bait
raising business.
Right: The main pond is deep and clear. You will see
flocks of ducks nesting on this pond in particular.
Left : About the middle of the east
part of the pasture, looking west.
Below: Same place, looking north.
Above left:  far south end of east
pasture, looking north.
Above right: This is the yard of a
home site - septic, well,  gas and
electric hookup, and concrete pad
are located on this site.
Left: Another view of the home site.

Note the pecan tree in the front.
Above: Mike cuts hay on the pastures, and his tractor has a
following of hundreds of cowbirds soaring through the sky. It
makes a beautiful, peaceful scene.
