The Pasture Continued

Come join us on the second
part of the pasture tour. This is
the East main pasture on the
homeplace.
Above : Some
of the sheep
line up to come
into the day
pasture.

Left: 2008
lambs in the
new spring
grass.
Mike and Tish
survey the
sheep as they
graze in the
East main
pasture.
Can you find the
second twin in
this picture? The
clover outdid
itself this year!
(The lamb is the
little white spot
directly behind
the first lamb.)
Katie watches
over the flock.
This pasture
includes a
pond and a
hill of
road-grade
gravel to
keep the
roads on the
ranch in top
shape. It also
serves as the
hub for three
smaller
grazing
pastures and
a night
pasture with a
creek.
While Katie and part of the
flock are on one side of
the pasture, One guards
her side, along the tree
line.
But while the
bumper crop of
clover is a
delight to the
sheep, Katie
and One have to
check it out to
make sure the
lambs haven't
gotten lost in
the greenery!
